Patriarch Nona opens children’s home building in Ankawa
Patriarch Paul III Nona opened a new building for the children’s home run by the Daughters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus in Ankawa on October 1, according to a Patriarchate report published October 2.
The report describes the home’s beginnings in two convent rooms in 1994 and its later expansion to accommodate displaced children. The sisters are developing services based on learning through play and direct experience.
The ceremony included church leaders, sisters, clergy and members of the community. The Patriarchate credits donors and church organizations for supporting the project.
